Enter the Rebel Era

Grant Kwiecinski, better known as Detroit’s very own GRiZ, is a master of the saxophone. That, however, is not the only thing that he is skilled at. He is also a master producer and is releasing his new album Rebel Era later this month. He says the title is to promote “a time where classism and competition is tearing a rift in society, a time where imperialist democratic capitalism is fighting its way to dominate cultures and separate people into selfish consumers. It’s up to us to use music and manifest a new reality, a world of action and love.”

His fresh new remix called “Hard Times” is from the album, and one can clearly see that GRiZ has used his own instrumental styles to deliver a track that is uniquely his own. A definite and unique rise of electronic music: full of smooth vibes, while still managing to step outside the lines of the genre. Just by listening to the track, the tone of the upcoming album is immediately sensed. It is a perfect mixture of hip-hop, blues and EDM, giving us an interesting and funky result. I for one, cannot wait to see what he has in store for his fans. If you’re a fan of electronica, GRiZ is definitely someone worth your while.

GRiZ is now on his national headlining tour and the dates are listed just below. You can get a free download of the song “Hard Times” here
