Montreal’s very own CeasRock is setting up to release his album, Zero Gravity. A great lyricist who has teamed up with the FAKE MUSIC imprint coming to us out of Paris brings us the track “10.5”. It is one of the tracks on his upcoming album which according to his twitter is set to be released on October 28th. I have yet to listen to the full album, but after listening to “10.5” I was definitely able to see why he is an up and comer.
The song is filled with sharp and interesting bars with a very smooth production from Deejay IZ and 514IndoRecordz. My favorite thing about the song is that he is not a rapper that depends on speed to get him through the song. The lyrics are easy to understand– I loved that he took his time in the song and really let the lyrics and his feelings go ahead and flow with the beat.
The music video was edited by 5Pound Media and was shot in both Montreal and Paris, which I absolutely adore. There was no need for anything extravagant; the simplicity of the music video is what makes it beautiful. The fact that they went above and beyond to make a music video that was both flattering in visuals and connected well to the lyrics won many points in my book. Even the props he used were so minimal but worked so well with the tone of the song. Whether it was just the small moments that he held a beer in his hands with his friend or simply standing in front of the Eiffel Tower; it was gorgeous. The perfect lighting and the perfect tone was the set up for what ended up being a striking music video.
CeasRock is currently doing shows with Ab-Soul and Joey Badass. The music video is just below, and stay tuned via his twitter and facebook for the release of his new album!
