#MusicMonday: Perspectives

Here’s to another Monday. It’s all about how you look at the hand you’re dealt.

Here’s to another Monday.

Gravity literally took home every technical award there was in last night’s Academy Awards, as it should. But who cares about that when you’ve got million-dollar stars in thousand-dollar gowns educating the Academy on feminism and divulging their personal tales of heroes and dreams in minute-long speeches? The biggest win/upset goes to Matthew McConaughey. Gone are the days of W Channel rom-com reruns – enter “the serious actor”. Leonardo Dicaprio will now go FIVE nominations and ZERO wins – but what can you expect when you don’t change up the character/ role you play in every movie you get cast in? — just my two cents.

Lupito Nyong’o, stunning in her #Nairobiblue Prada gown, took home the Best Supporting Actress award over Jennifer Lawrence (who tripped, yet again.) Jared Leto and Cate Blanchett won Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity) received Best Director. Lastly, 12 Years A Slave took the title of Best Picture.

Here are some big artists that changed up their game and released some new sounds, check them out below:
