It’s an indisputable fact that a fresh coat of nail polish not only upgrades your look, but makes you feel great. A colour or style can be chosen to compliment an outfit, a skin tone, or even just to give you that feeling that your shit has to be together if your claws look this great. Even if you hail from a trailer park, a new coat of a rich colour on a knife sharp nail can be enough to make you feel as glamorous as a Trust Fund kid. Wanting to do just that, Samara Granofsky created Trust Fund Beauty, a nail polish brand that aims to “bring out the rich bitch in everyone”. I think this is a noble mission; who has more confidence than a rich bitch?
Only launched on the market in February 2014, Trust Fund Beauty is already well established in the polish sphere. With over ten thousand Twitter followers and even more on Instagram, the brand has caught the eye of clever people around the world who have an appreciation for naming. After all, Granofsky has been known to put a nail polish down if she doesn’t like what it’s called. “Sex Tape”, “What’s a Budget?”, “Stole Your Man”, “Do You Know Who My Father Is?” and “Epic Tantrum” are only some of the names that will win you over before you even see the shade. I mean, who could ever doubt a colour named “Nip Slip”?
“I Look Good Nude”, “Money Buys Happiness”, “Do You Know Who My Father Is?”, and “Sex Tape”.
In Trust Fund Beauty‘s mission statement, Granofsky makes clear who her polishes are for.
“Trust Fund Beauty is marketed to fabulous, smart women, so it’s only logical that the names of the polish be whip-smart and funny, instead of hippy-dippy or boring and flowery.”
Not to mention non-toxic and 5-free! This means that all Trust Fund Beauty products are formaldehyde, camphor, dibutyl phthalate, Toluene and formaldehyde resin free. Don’t know what these toxic chemicals are? Me neither, that’s why I don’t want them around me. In fact, we felt so good about the lack of chemicals that we deemed it safe to paint Paco’s nails too. So, we wrapped him up snug…
And got painting.
Paco wears “Sex Tape”.
This makes us wonder why other nail polish companies don’t make their products 5-free, therefore safe for animals. I mean, nail polish is the perfect accessory for a compliant doggy, right? At least Trust Fund Beauty knows that dogs are divas too.
We got some ladies of varying nail styles together to try on some of their cutest summer shades, and you can check out the glamorous results below.
