Adam Cleaver returns with his haunting and powerful new single "Narrow Spines" released April 22nd 2016 via Veta Records.
We asked him to put together a list of his favourite artists that inspired his latest single and he delivered. Scroll through his picks right here:
Bon Iver – Blood Bank
When I first heard this song I really loved the pace of it. Bon Iver is so good at building up a space for you to exist with the song and I sort of fell straight into this one. It builds so beautifully.
Nathaniel Rateliff – Oil and Lavender
Nathaniel Rateliff if probably one of my favourite lyricists. This song has such a keen, poetic eye on the anxieties of realising that the person you are with may not be the right one. "I was the oil and lavender, but never for you’.
Strand Of Oaks – Mirage Year
This songs intensity always grips me. You can feel it wanting to grow and grow, and then it does. I mean it really does.
Wendy Rene – After Laughter
One of the many vocalists who I listen to and have to stop whatever i'm doing. I was actually listening to this track when the I came up with the chords for Narrow Spines. It's just so full of longing and her voice is something else.
Mogwai – Cody
Mogwai's ability to use texture alongside some of the more grungey aspects of what they do is really clear in this track. Mogwai are a pretty important band for me in general really.
